Mission
The mission of the Piero della Francesca Society is to provide a nexus in which people from all humanistic disciplines could come together to study participate in conversation on the art, writings, and life of the eponymous painter and mathematician, as well as his time period in the 15th century.
The Society also follows the broader objective of promoting the integration of the history of ideas and the history of art in the scholarly effort to understand pre-modern works of art.
Finally, the Society supports the cultivation of new ideas and insights through more spontaneous and conversational alternatives to traditional academic publishing, and we have established The Dialogue interview series and the Ingenium series to reflect this ideal.
